Overview
Our Custom Gildan Youth Cotton T-Shirt (Style 5000B) is the most cost-effective option for youth t-shirt orders. While “cheap” often makes sense for youth orders, if you simply can’t stand to put your 8 year old in a scratchy, boxy shirt, we’ve got plenty of other options and this wouldn’t be the right choice. But, for saving the most money and for purposes where quality doesn’t matter as much, this standard cotton youth shirt is the way to go. We often see this shirt ordered for elementary schools for a variety of reasons. Think Field Day, School Pride Day, elementary graduation… you get it. Something to consider – often times we see the bulk of an order be these shirts for the kids, and then the adults get something a touch nicer that will last awhile longer. Oh, and did we mention birthday parties?
The Printing
Note on Youth Apparel Styles: We are required by law to register every youth garment we print with the government in compliance with 2008 CPSIA regulations. This requires us to print the individual registration on each garment, and is treated like a second print location. This additional print cost is already built into the price per shirt, which is why you’d find that youth apparel is more expensive than many unisex styles on our site. “Adult” garments include one print location and ink color, and Youth garments include two print locations (one ink color each).
The heavier cotton fabric on Gildan Youth Cotton T-Shirt holds up well for thicker Standard Ink printing. The variety of bright, bold, and fun apparel colors often fits the purpose for these shirts. And, when a fun design and bright inks are added, you’ve created a masterpiece that your child will love to wear. The smaller garment size does reduce the printable area, so we will likely cap the maximum design width and will be happy to walk you through what that means. Don’t worry, it’s not scary.
